A dapper reveler in a tuxedo and bow tie strides through the night, "riding" an elaborate, toothy alligator costume that encircles his waist. This whimsical scene was captured in the heart of Greenwich Village during the annual Village Halloween Parade in the mid-1980s. The high-contrast black-and-white tones of Kodak Tri-X film emphasize the spotted patterns of the creature and the sharp lines of the man's formal wear — frozen by the crisp light of a Norman 200B flash against the dark streets of the Village.
