16x20 inch Black & White print on Epson Art Cotton Smooth 250 gram paper. From the NYC Village Halloween Parade, 1982–86.
Captured on grainy 35mm Tri-X film between 1982 and 1986, this shot captures the witty spirit of the Greenwich Village Halloween Parade. The frame is centered on "Twin Pigs," two participants in prosthetic noses and bowties sharing a single oversized hat. To their left, an NYC police officer in a vintage uniform offers a candid smile, while figures to the right are dressed as Lewis Lehrman, the red-suspendered businessman then running for Governor. The short flash duration creates a sharp image even under dark nighttime conditions, while the analog grain preserves a classic moment of street theater where political satire and surreal humor collided.
